Warranty Policy
At Budget Tech, we ensure that our customers receive genuine products with official manufacturer warranties. Please review the following terms and conditions regarding warranty claims and services.
1. General Warranty Terms
- Manufacturing Warranty: The warranty declared at the time of sale is primarily a “Manufacturing Warranty.” This means the responsibility for the warranty lies with the original brand or manufacturer. Warranty terms vary by brand and are clearly stated on your warranty paper/invoice.
- Duration: Laptop warranties typically range from 1 to 2 years, depending on the brand and model.
- Coverage: Warranty is applicable only to products for which the parent company has declared a specific warranty period.
- Immediate Defects: If a product is found to be defective immediately after sale, we will repair it or, depending on the product type, replace it.
- Stock Unavailability: If a defective product cannot be repaired and the exact same model is not available in our stock for replacement, a better model may be offered with a price adjustment.
- Data & Software: Budget Tech is not responsible for any loss of software or data during product use or service. We do not cover data recovery or software re-installation under warranty.
- Service Timeline: There is no fixed timeline for warranty repairs. It typically takes 5 to 60 days. If parts need to be imported or the device needs to be sent abroad for international service, the process may take longer.
- Parts Replacement: Most warranty services involve replacing specific defective parts (often imported from abroad) rather than repairing the component itself.
- OS & Setup: Any custom software or Operating System (OS) setup provided at the time of sale is not covered under warranty.
- Lifetime Warranty: “Lifetime Warranty” means the warranty is valid as long as the product is available in the market and the manufacturer continues production. It covers internal defects but excludes external damage.
2. Service Charges & Conditions
- Non-Warranty Service: For services outside the warranty scope, Budget Tech may charge a service fee with the customer’s consent.
- Service Warranty Parts: In the case of a “Service Warranty” (where only service is free), if any parts need replacement, the customer must bear the cost. The customer can procure the part themselves or pay us in advance to source it.
- Lost Documents: If the specific warranty receipt is lost, the product may still be accepted for service upon production of the purchase receipt and valid proof of purchase.
- Unclaimed Products: Budget Tech will not be responsible for any product left in the service department for more than 1 month after service completion.
3. Warranty Exclusions (Void Warranty)
The warranty will be considered void or not applicable in the following scenarios:
- Physical Damage: Any defects caused by careless use, such as water damage, breakage, burns, deep scratches, or heavy impact.
- Sticker Tampering: If the product’s serial number or serial sticker is partially or fully removed, erased, or damaged.
- Courier/Delivery Claims: For products received via courier, you must record a full unboxing video. Without video evidence, claims for physical damage or missing items will not be accepted.
- Free Items: Accessories or free gifts provided with a laptop/product are not covered under warranty.
- Display Dots: Warranty claims for monitors or displays are not accepted for 1 to 3 dead pixels/dots. A claim can be made only if there are 4 or more dots. Scratches on the display are not covered.
- Maintenance: General cleaning or maintenance of hardware is not a free service under warranty.
- Unauthorized Modifications: If the product undergoes unauthorized repairs, modifications, or hardware changes (e.g., unauthorized parts change, BIOS updates), the warranty is void.
- Power Issues: Damage caused by electrical surges, high voltage, or the use of non-original/low-quality chargers or adapters is not covered. We recommend using surge protectors or UPS.
- Passwords: Budget Tech does not set any passwords. Any BIOS or OS password issues are the customer’s responsibility and are not covered under warranty.
4. Return & Exchange
Sold products are generally non-refundable. If there are no visible manufacturing defects, products cannot be exchanged or returned simply because the customer “does not like” the product or wants a different model after purchase.
